AJ Jewell’s tragic passing has been ruled a homicide, and the cause of his death has been determined.

AJ, who starred in Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” died suddenly after early-October brawl outside of Atlanta gentleman’s club Body Tap. Initial reports said that he was beaten to death, but it later came out that he was able to walk away from the fight. His ex-fiancée Kandi Burruss was one of the first to see his body and she told us there was barely a scratch on him.

TMZ.com reports that Fulton County Medical Examiner has officially ruled AJ’s death a homicide. They listed his cause of death as “Physical altercation resulting in sickle cell trait related exertional collapse.” Basically, the fight caused his sickle cell anemia to act up, which resulted in his fatal collapse.

Fredrick Richardson, the man AJ was fighting with, has since been charged with voluntary manslaughter in connection with his death. The examiner’s autopsy also found that an enlarged heart and “intestinal myocardial fidrosis” were contributing factors in AJ’s passing.
