Explosive Undies On Terrorist

Experts say these dusty drawers worn by suspected terrorist Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab contained enough explosives to blow a hole in the Airbus 380!
The underwear had a special pouch containing a condom packed with 80 grams of PETN, the key compound used in the plastic explosive Semtex. Abdulmutallab tried to detonate the explosive by injecting it with acid with a hypodermic needle. The device failed to work because the syringe melted before making contact with the PETN, instead setting Abdulmutallab’s crotch on fire and spouting flames over six feet high. Experiments by security officials found as little as 50 grams of PETN could blast a hole in the side of a plane, so it’s possible Abdulmutallab’s undies could have inflicted incredible damage had his attempt been successful.
