The Vatican Digs 2Pac

So get this, much to the shagrin of many, a song from late, great Tupac Shakur appeared on the the Vatican’s official MySpace Music playlist. The California emcee’s inspirational single “Changes,” which appeared on his 1998 Greatest Hits album made its way onto a very selective list of only 12 records that also included selections from Mozart, Muse and Dame Shirley Bassey.
Why the Vatican has a MySpace page is beyond me but its kind of cool and definately a sign of the times and the desire for institutions, even as old as the Holy City to feel the need to assimilate to the advancing technology.
“The genres are very different from each other, but all these artists share the aim to reach the heart of good minded people,” the Vatican wrote on its official MySpace Music page.
The complete list was actually compiled by Father Giulio Neroni who is the quazi music director of the Vatican and is also responsible for compiling the Vatican’s recent Alma Mater album, which combined Gregorian chants and prayers with classical music and the voice of Pope Benedict XVI speaking in five languages. While he’s clearly well versed in the religious hymns, its good to see he’s got his iPod tuned to some Pac as well.

I’m very happy to find that the “Time” for all weakness concerning 2 Pac, and his higher self ‘Makaveli” has been placed with the great ones. He mastered his lower self by age 21, thereby aquiring a place with Divinity. The Vatican has always had a “ear” to hear, so to speak, therefore they knew what many of his fans knew not. 2 Pac was like “Behold A Pale Horse. He was never lost, and he knew well what awaited him at the end of a 7 year reign. Like he once said, “i do all this for you.” I knew him for Infinity, as in I’m his personal secretary, so I do write to you in the “esortic” mind of the one known and still loved by millions called Makaveli the Don. See, a concept dosen’t require the “ok” from the masses, because It is what it is. Just like the Vatican, it’s a concept, therefore it’s run by many, therefore it’s direction is totally controlled by no one indivual. It’s really all good; I still live for this Westside, because I can.I love you very much and I always will, so please keep up the good work, it’s all part of the Struggle.
