Why BET’s MJ Tribute ???

Hello All!!! There was so much anticipation leading up to the BET Awards on sunday you pretty much didn’t hear a peep of rumors or anything leading up to them. If there was anything going on it was definately overshadowed by the loss of the undeniable King of Pop. The whispers of what BET would possibly do as the first network to have an award ceremony after the great gloved ones passing. Well did Black Entertainment Television pay respects and give MJ his just due? That’s for you to decide. I think the anticipation of BET doing something so spectacular and great may have lost some of it’s luster since they had to put something together in such a short time. We will have to see what they will do in a few weeks or months to make a true celebration of his life. For all of the people out there bashing the awards I have to admit I wasn’t that impressed myself but with the time allowed the effort was there. Just think Mike died thursday afternoon with conflicting reports of him being in a coma or actually if he had passed into late in the evening it was around 4 o’clock LA time so on the east coast that was 7 o’clock pm. Come on that’s not enough time to put together a performance that would pay homage to a man that left us with decades of memorable performances. Besides not having enough time from a business and hating side of things BET had to get clearence for a lot of things in order to be used in the program with his death being thursday that gives one day to make that happen negotiations and all. So if someone out there wanted to block BET which I know they wanted to they could charge crazy amounts of money for them to show videos, pictures, perform certain songs just a long list of loop holes. Do remember Michael was a cash cow while he was living and in his passing there are plenty of people seeking the opportunity to cash in.
