Dwayne Wade Vs. Charles Barkley (About Lebron In Miami)

Never one to bite his tongue, Charles Barkley spoke out about the new “Miami Thrice” and how it may tarnish the legacy of Lebron James:

“They got three terrific players,” Barkley said. “I was disappointed. I wanted LeBron to stay in Cleveland, to be honest with you. I don’t blame the guy. But I think it would be a lot more important and significant to win a championship in Cleveland than it would be in Miami, if he wins it. … LeBron is never going to be the guy.”

Dwayne Wade countered this point with one just as effective:

“When he got older, he tried to team up with (Scottie) Pippen and (Hakeem) Olajuwon. Why wait until you’re old when you have nothing left in the tank? … There’s just a lot of misconceptions out there about how much talent it takes to win a championship. It’s takes at least two, it takes three to really be a dynasty. That’s what we want to be.”

I personally commend Lebron for not falling into that trap of sticking with the team that will be loyal but never get any championships. No one stays on a team anymore just to be there. If there is no chance of a ring for an elite player, they should leave. It’s better for them, the fans and the NBA. It’s a shame that Barkley, Dominique Wilkins, Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing never got a ring and someone like Adam Morrison of the Lakers has two just for riding the bench. I would hate to see anyone with that much talent finish their career with bad knees and great stats. I guess there’s going to be some tension on the set of those next round of T-Mobile commercials.
