Checkout Raekwon new album! Raekwon, Wu-Tang Clan’s resident chef, is serving up another helping for the masses. Back with his fifth solo album, Shaolin Vs. Wu-Tang drops on March 8th. For the past few weeks, The Staten Island rapper has been feeding his fans appetizers by releasing several new songs, “Rich & Black” and “Rock N Roll.” The official video for the album’s title track, directed by Konee Rok, features animated ninjas sparring with each other spliced with images of Raekwon doing what he does best: spitting behind a mic.
Originally slated to be a Wu-Tang album, Raekwon wanted to create Shaolin Vs. Wu- Tang as a response to the lukewarm reception the rap group received from their 8 Diagrams album back in 2007. Over time, it evolved into a solo project. Inspired by one of his favorite Kung Fu movies Shaolin Vs. Wutang, Raekwon promises the new album is filled with the gritty, Shaolin style that Wu-Tang fans have come to know and love since their 1993 debut album Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) that became an instant classic.
Track List:
The17-track album features a roster of all-star guest appearances from NaS, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Black Thought of The Roots, Mobb Deep, Jim Jones Raheem DeVaughn and Lloyd Banks. Raekwon even went across the pond to recruit British singer Estelle. No Raekwon album is complete without his fellow clan members. Although RZA is absent from this album, Ghostface Killah, Method Man, GZA and Inspectah Deck team up with the chef for several cameos.

Since his 1995 Only Built For Cuban Linx solo debut, hip-hop fans have consistently clamored for more from lyricist. If his new songs are any indication of the raw, cocaine-laced, pistol-whipping lyrics Raekwon is known for, make sure to bring your appetite because the chef is taking all orders.
